Marina Malamud was born in 1980 in Netanya, Israel. 

Her parents came to Israel from the Soviet Union in 1976, and work as an electronics engineer and a software engineer. 

Marina lives and works in Jaffa Israel. 

After finishing a Bachelor degree in Interior Design, she studied painting at  the full-time Jerusalem Studio School Master Class program. 

During those years she joined the Jerusalem Studio School summer programs in Italy,  

And 4 years after she was the recipient of the “Avigdor Arikha memorial master class scholarship”. 
 

Marina is married to Gil Shani, a painter and photographer, and together they have 2 kids. 

Marina and Gil have  a studio in Tel-Aviv, in which they are working. 

In this studio they also manage a painting school, in which they teach painting classes, where they aspire to pass the knowledge on painting for those who want to paint.
